Freelance Writer, Researcher and Photographer

Suzanne Bosworth is a professional writer from the UK with over twenty five years' experience of writing articles and fiction. She has written for literary journals and for commercial magazines published in the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Eire. She is also an accomplished photographer.

Career Background

Her first career was in nursing. She took a post grad diploma in operating theatre nursing and spent the next few years working in the entire range of surgical specialities, both in the UK and in Switzerland. She took a theatre sister's post at a London teaching hospital and also taught anatomy, physiology and theatre technique to medical and nursing students on theatre placements.

She was offered the post of operating theatre clinical tutor at an allied London teaching hospital, but this came at a time of career reflection and Suzanne moved on from nursing to study for an honours degree in English Literature. This not only gave her the chance to indulge her growing passion for literature but also to develop her talent for writing. Her time at University was a watershed in Suzanne's own political development.

In later years she took a foundation course in counselling skills and spent time working in the voluntary sector, and continues to involve herself in rights and justice issues both at home and overseas. Additionally Suzanne has worked in a number of different environments to gain insight into a wide range of businesses and organisations including sales, hospitality, legal work, fundraising, and charities as well as keeping her hand in with the healthcare sector.

Publications

Suzanne's work has appeared in Books Ireland, Horizon, The New Heidelberg Review, The Wessex Journal, QWF, Plaza, Plume, Takahe, Bella, Woman, Woman's Way, Everywoman, Vegetarian Living, Take a Break Fiction Feast, New Idea, and AMSPAR magazine, and in an anthology entitled Death of a Mother: Daughters' Stories published by Rivers Oram Press/Pandora. She has also read her short fiction on BBC Radio, and was interviewed on UK Living TV in relation to her work included in the anthology.

Suzanne is now a self employed writer taking on commercial contracts for web and print copy. She also writes for Constant Content and is a Witty Writer at The Wittery. Samples of her written work and her photography can be found on her website and she maintains a blog at An Accumulation of Small Things.
